Birth of a Nation Great Movie
Birth of a Nation, the movie will leave the average person dumbfounded because they will not understand the magnitude of the events and their REAL LIFE effects on African descendants living in America. As I continue, we all must understand the most important fact is that RACE is a major factor in every decision we make in life; it is a KEY influence, this is why marketing is based first on identifying a target demographics which correlates to the need to create a different message to reach the various RACIAL groups. Conversely, in the movie we see the oppressive race utilizing religions based methods to subjugate a race of people. Importantly, this is not any litmus test towards the validity of a specific religion this is simply a viewpoint of the WAY the particular religion was used and the marketing aspect of it all; it is all about photos, and English language double talk.
Religious photos of the Messiah, notwithstanding his description in the Bible supports him being dark in color yet they purposely depicted the Savior in the light more useful to a purpose. Lastly, the prose of the metaphors conjugated in a manner which promoted racial supremacy thus, making these people the “Master’s of the Universe” who must be obeyed, in accordance with the word of God, least, “Ye shall suffer the wrath.”
In keeping with the double talk the theory was that slaves were considered chattel property the same as say a cow or some animal and in most situations were treated accordingly, but not wanting to get off point however, in consideration of the irony of this fact the conclusion should have been that all sex between a “Slave Master” and the “Animal property” is considered Beastiality?
There is a correlation between what was allowed in slavery and what is currently going on in the bowels of America’s prison systems: There are policies that chain prisoners to beds, post, and the likes. House them in windowless holes until their death. Force feeding those who opt to go on food strikes. Lease them to product manufacturers. Authorizes violence… things only seem to change when continuing the status quo becomes cost prohibited
A bigger question is trying to understand the mentality of a race which view themselves as a “Master Race” with all others as servants? Who put this thought into their head? How is it that they really believe this? Was it not possible to foresee a point of Rebellion? Why was there not more Rebellion? How is it that another race can be so strong yet have a weakness which allows them to be subjected? This also causes you to understand why there was a fear of an African-American as president of the United Stated, no doubt the thinking was that maybe he would use his powers to invoke a “Nat Turner” retribution on the oppressor that would enslave them for 200 plus years…
Go see the movie, don’t get caught up in the rhetoric of what the lead actor may or may not have done years ago- go see the movie so that you can gain a better understanding of Nat Turner- go see the movie so that you can see that everybody wasn’t okay with slavery- go see the movie as Roland Martin says so that the numbers will provide financing for the telling of Our-story instead of His-story. Go see the movie and don’t wait for the bootleg to come out.
