ULM poses 10 Questions to the” Texas Rose,” Kamilah Young who struggles with the everyday temptations associated with being a mother, a model and an actress while at the same time living in Texas. Her optimistic responses expose a most difficult delima for any model or actor living outside of New York or Hollywood: How do you get discovered? Do you stay where you are or do you go? Temptation comes in all form and shapes. If you go how do you know whether or not you will be successful and when you get there how do you know who to trust. And most importantly can you measure up to the stiff competition…
1. 1. Do you consider yourself an actress who models or a model who can act?
I consider myself to be a model who can act.
3.. Tell me about a movie that you’ve seen where you said, “She stole my part; I could have done a better job.” I feel I could have done better than Kim Kardashian’s character in Tyler Perry’s Temptation.
4.. Do you ever find yourself in a conflict with the religious right when it comes to modeling or acting, if so why? I don’t feel or think I’ve come across any conflicts with the religious right when it comes to modeling. I haven’t had too many job experiences in the acting field just yet.
5. . When doing a photo shoot, what is the difference between lingerie and swimwear? When modeling lingerie, it’s more seductive & sensual, a garment that’s intended to be worn inside. Depending on the style of swimwear that is being modeled, it can be also seductive, yet presentable to be able to wear outside.
6. . Halle Berry received an Oscar for a part where she was nude, if the money was right would you accept an assignment where you were nude? If I was on the same level of acting as Halle Berry with the right film production, then yes, I would accept an assignment of where I’d be nude.
7.. Of all the photos you’ve taken which one do you believe is the best… I’m talking your signature money shot? I’m in a fitted baby blue dress sitting on a couch, looking like an entrepreneur. LOL
9. When you become a big star how will you justify staying in Texas? I have a 12 year old daughter to go home to everyday. It wouldn’t be a problem keeping a home in Texas. But of course I’m sure it’ll be hard trying to go back & forth being on the go a lot. 10.. Finish this sentence, “Today my lyfe is…” ….a blessing & better than it was yesterday.
